1969 GOLD LONG HANDLE GILLETTE ADJUSTABLE SAFETY

RAZOR ALL MY ITEMS ARE SOLD FOR BEST OFFER!

RICHARDS RAZORS; MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN’T REFUSE!

VINTAGE GOLD LONG HANDLE GILLETTE ADJUSTABLE SAFETY RAZOR. VERY CLEAN & VERY NICE. THE DATE CODE
IS O-4. The razor doesn’t have any plate loss but it does have some vintage wear on it, on the
edge wear you shave. You only can see the wear with a jewelry loop not with the naked eye.

This is the long handled “Black Beauty” razor. It is elegant in style and markedly different
in “feel” from the “Fatboy” or the “Slim.” The handle is not plastic but composite over metal.
This is last model of the popular mid-century 1-9 adjustables.

This razor has been sterilized, cleaned and polished. The opening and closing action is
smooth. The blade adjustment moves crisply clicking on all the numbers and half stops. This is
a very clean piece with no residue or brassing. The numbers are clean and black.
The piece is ready to start shaving.

1947 Gillette Milord Safety Razor with Original Case

Posted by Admin - March 4th, 2012

1947 Gillette Milord Safety Razor with Original Case
ALL MY ITEMS ARE SOLD FOR BEST OFFER!///
RICHARDS RAZORS; MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN’T REFUSE!

This is a Vintage 1947 Gillette Milord Safety Razor in it’s original case in almost mint condition.
The razor and case show nearly no signs of age or wear, as can be seen in the pictures, both are
in very close to mint condition. The set is about as mint as it gets, the head is beautiful and
shiny, no plating loss, the box is as new.

Silo doors open and close smoothly and lock down tight. There is no date code or serial number
on this razor, because Gillette didn’t begin dating until 1950. The razor does not have the
notch on the center bar for a blade dispenser.

It is 24 ct gold plated and has a handle much like the Sheraton. It shaves very well, close and
comfortable. It is the model that gave birth to the very popular 40′s style Gillette Super Speed.
It’s a great set that would make a fine addition to your collection.

1930 Gillette “NEW” Safety Razor

Posted by Admin - March 2nd, 2012

1930 Gillette “NEW” Safety Razor
ALL MY ITEMS ARE SOLD FOR BEST OFFER!
RICHARDS RAZORS; MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN’T REFUSE!

This vintage Gillette is in almost mint condition as can be seen in the pictures, there are no
scratches or gouges any place on the razor. This is one for the collection but it could also be
used in your daily rotation. The razor has been cleaned and sanitized using antibacterial soap
and Barbasol. Don’t let this one get away.

Description: The Gillette “NEW” came on the market in 1930. It continued the drop-shoulder
profile of the out in the middle Gillette “NEW” Improved from 1921, but with a straight bar that
required blades with a slot cut in them and for a while, only Gillette had those blades.

The NEW razors that have survived to the year 2011 have long since had their thin gold wash go
down the drain. The top cap was copper, with the handle and base plate made from two different
brass alloys. Often times you will see the “rare” tri-color razor or beautiful “copper top” models.

1954 MINT Gillette Diplomat Safety Razor w Original Case and Blades

Posted by Admin - February 5th, 2012

1954 MINT Gillette Diplomat Safety Razor w Original Case and Blades

The 1954 Z-3 Diplomat is a TTO (Twist to Open) razor and was produced between 1953 and 1955. This razor
is 24 ct. Gold plated with a top coat of lacquer to protect the gold, as it is a very soft metal.
The set comes with 10 Gillette Super Blue Blades in the original dispenser. The razor is in
excellent condition with no wear and appears to have never been used. The razor case is in almost
mint condition and I only say ‘ALMOST’ because it is pre owned, there are no tares inside or
scratches or gouges on the outside.

One way to identify this beauty is the handle, which is thicker than the Super Speed, it is fluted
and completely knurled the entire length from neck to knob unlike the Aristocrat of the same
years which had a smooth band just above the knob. The Diplomat is 3.25” in overall length and
weighs in at 70 grams. The blade gap of this razor is .64mm, which is the same as the Gillette
New Razor. One other thing to note is that this razor came with the notched center bar to accept
the use of the Blue Blade dispenser packs produced at the time. The Diplomat came in a very
handsome leather clad case that was embossed with the Gillette crest in 24 ct Gold Leaf.

This razor is one of my favorites, as I own another I occasionally use it. I get a fantastic
shave from it, very comfortable and clean. There is just something about shaving with a 24 ct.
Gold razor that just seems to make the shave that much more luxurious. Now you have the
opportunity to buy a Gillette Diplomat, I highly recommend you jump on it, you won’t be seeing
another anytime soon.

1958 GILLETTE FATBOY RAZOR D4 COMPLETE IN ORIG BOX

Posted by Admin - January 27th, 2012

1958 GILLETTE FATBOY RAZOR D4 COMPLETE IN ORIG BOX

This 1958 FATBOY razor is VERY clean, there is no rust or plate loss. The adjustment dial turns
fine and it opens and closes secuerly. It is in near Mint condition and appears to be unused.
It has no plating loss or dullness. The numbers and ring below the adjuster are solid black.
It comes with the case, instructions, and blade pack.

This razor is fully functional. The case does have a very small amount of expected vintage
wear but all in all it also is in very good+ condition as can be seen in the pictures. There is
also a package of Super blue blades. The dispenser looks new I can tell there are at least two
unused blades because the first one will slide out with no rust and there are no unused blades in
the back blade holder. This will come to you with the origional instruction pamplet for this
model which is the 195.

The “Butterfly Door” is the mother of blade replacement options. It is both safe and simple and
it adds that little touch of hi-tech that makes this great razor what it is. Simple and safe.
Gillette reached the pinnacle of their creative prowess when they designed this razor. This is a
great razor that was built to last. It provides a quality shave. I would recommend this razor to
anyone who wishes to sample a little piece of the past. Best of all, when not in use, this razor
looks beautiful in the collection.

VERY RARE 1927 Gillette Tuckaway G-in-D STAMPED Silver, New Improved

Posted by Admin - January 14th, 2012

VERY RARE 1927 Gillette Tuckaway G-in-D STAMPED Silver, New
Improved

This razor is extremely collectible, per Krumholtz Page 186; he lists the “G” in “D” as “Scarce”.

This very nice Tuckaway in it’s original case, the
shaving kit comes from the 1920s – likely 1927 or
1928 when these razors were not numbered. This razor has a
G-in-D stamped on the underside of the
blade head. There is light vintage wear to the plating of the
razor and the case.

As with almost every Gillette razor of this era, there
is a hairline crack at the end of the handle
tube. The crack is stable, the pieces are secure.
Shaving is not affected.

The teeth of the comb are straight. The razor has been
sanitized in Barbicide and scrubbed with
antibacterial soap. The case is square and sturdy; the latch
latches and opens as it should.

THIS ITEM IS A VERY RARE 1927 Gillette Tuckaway G-in-D
STAMPED
This razor is a 1927 Gillette “OLD TYPE” safety razor
using the pioneering system of disposable blades.
(patented by Gillette in 1904). Silver-plated Old Type
“NEW IMPROVED” razor.
This razor is extremely collectible, it has a marking
of a “G inside a D” on the bottom of the
blade holder which means that at one point the razor was
returned to the Gillette factory for repair.

Apparently Gillette gauranted it’s razors and if part
of the razor got damaged you could return it
and they would either fix or replace the part. When
finished Gillette stamped a “G inside a D” so
that that piece was not eligible to be fixed for free twice.
As I was told by a representative from
the Gillette history department. He told me also that
the “G inside a D” stood for “Damaged Gillette.”

This is the really rare thing about this razor, think
of the millions of safety razors Gillette sold
and the very small number of razors returned to be fixed!!
This razor is one; you tell me how
many more there are that still exist. If you find one
you better keep it because there are very
few. I’ve been collecting razors for about 40 years and
I have only seen 3 of these razors with the GD.

#2 1930 GILLETTE WINDSOR safety razor gold plate w/case

Posted by Admin - January 9th, 2012

#2 1930 GILLETTE WINDSOR safety razor gold plate w/case

Gold Windsor “New” Gillette 1930 Safety Razor Set. The case contains a gold plated Gillette
“NEW” safety razor and blade holder. The razor is in VERY GOOD condition with no
brassing and doesn’t show it’s age at all. This razor is so clean that you could eat off it.

The parts of this vintage razor have no plating wear / loss. The case has some spots of
stain inside. Considering it’s age & use, it’s very good used condition – no cracks, chips,
breaks or repairs. It’s still a good looking, collectible set that will show & display well.
The case measures 3/4 in. thick, 3-1/8 in. wide and 3-3/4 in. long.

This item is a “Ball End” Gillette “NEW” safety razor; the teeth are nice and straight.
The Gillette “NEW” came on the market in 1930. It continued the drop-shoulder profile of the out
in the middle Gillette “NEW” Improved from 1921, but with a straight bar that required blades
with a slot cut in them and for a while only Gillette had those blades.

The “NEW” can be found with two different
handles, one a hollow handle and one a solid handle (of smaller diameter) with a ball at the end.
Personally I prefer shaving with the “Ball End”; it has a very balanced weight in your hand and
gives a great clean shave. This is a very nice rare set. If there are any questions, please ask!!

1966 GILLETTE L-1 MINT ADJUSTABLE SAFETY RAZOR CASE BLADES

Posted by Admin - January 5th, 2012

1966 GILLETTE L-1 MINT ADJUSTABLE SAFETY RAZOR CASE BLADES

RICHARDS RAZORS; MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN’T REFUSE!

The razor you are viewing is in MINT working condition. The doors open and close smoothly, as
well as tighten down evenly and securely. The 1-9 adjustments, which determine blade exposure and thus
the aggressiveness of your shave, work as they did when new. The case is also mint there are no
scratches or breakage and opens and closes as it should, included is a dispenser of Gillette baldes.

As to the cosmetics, I call this razor near mint because there is almost a complete absence of
flaws. The finish is like new and all the paint is in excellent vintage condition. This fine
razor kit is ready to add to your collection or to put into shaving service right away.

From the height of the counter culture era comes this fine 1966, Gillette Adjustable
Slim, double edged razor. It was taken through a four part restoration process, which included a
thorough cleaning and polishing, along with lubrication when and where needed.
In the end the unit was completely sanitized, made ready for more decades of the fantastic shaves
that only these vintage razors can deliver.

Many ladies and gentlemen have grown tired of multi-blade cartridge razor gimmicks and inflated
prices for replacements, and thus are returning to the Gillette heyday of the solid metal, U.S.
manufactured safety razors.

Replacement double edged blades are still mass produced under many brand names, and available from
several vendors on Ebay as well as Walmart, CVS, and dollar stores. The cost of traditional razor
blades is a very small fraction of the price of many popular cartridge replacements. Also, the
quality is often fantastic.

“L-1″ is the date code, found on the outside bottom of the blade compartment, and confirms that
this razor was manufactured by Gillette during the first quarter of 1966.

1949 Gillette Super Speed Safety Razor in Original Box

Posted by Admin - December 7th, 2011

1949 Gillette Super Speed Safety Razor in Original Box

This razor and box are in very good+ vintage condition. You will be proud to own this set.

The Super-Speed One Piece hit the shaving scene in 1947. Like previous one- piece razors, this
model at first had no “notched” positioning bar to hold the blade as it was pulled from the new
dispenser. In early 1948, an Improved Super-Speed with a notched bar was brought out to aid in
loading the razor by the new “improved” dispenser. Safety was stressed as the reason for these
improvements; there was no longer need to touch the blade to load the razor.

These early Super-Speed models were put up in a cardboard case with a plastic “10″ Blue Blade
dispenser, all for only .00. These Super-Speeds were nickel-plated. The Super-Speed weighed in at
1.9 oz with a blade gap of .62mm.

For 1948, the Super-Speed was put up for the first time in a Styrene “display” case. The bottom of
the case was a solid color plastic, while the flip-top was clear. Gillette did not start date codes
in these models until 1951 (W); models earlier than 1951 will not be date stamped.
